• О себе:Alexander Shonert, a violin virtuoso, is an absolvent of the State Music Academy of M.I. Ghlinka in Novosibirsk (the class of Professor A.V. Ghrozdev). He also obtained a doctor's degree at the same institution, and he is a laureate of many prestigious international awards. Since 1999, this musician of extraordinary talent, lively personality and exceptional ability of improvisation has lived and worked in Prague. Due to his substantial contribution to the Czech culture, the right of double citizenship (Czech and Russian) was conferred upon him in 2010. He performs throughout the whole Europe, both as a soloist and as a guest soloist of philharmonic and chamber orchestras. He made a very successful debut in the United States in 2005. His brilliant virtuosity, the intensity of his feeling and the striking originality of his interpretative style, combined with his enchanting improvisations, has won Alexander Shonert the critics' acclaim. The Czech Television made and transmitted a film document about him, entitled “The Life Journey of a Violin Genius”. Alexander Shonert represents both the Czech Republic and the Russian Federation on various cultural events in the countries of the European Union (he represented the Czech culture at the European Commission in Brussels in 2009). Apart from his concert activities, Alexander Shonert is also a very successful violin pedagogue. He has elaborated his own teaching method that stems from the best traditions of the Russian violin school. His students play in various orchestras in Russia, Europe and the United States, and, when participating in international competitions, they exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
