The Factoury®
Описание: The Factoury®, alternatively known as “&”, is a solo project by the lead singer of the Californian indie band The Neighbourhood, Jesse Rutherford.
In 2016, he released several tracks under the alias such as “Cell Phone Trap”, “When I’m Not Around” and “U R Wut U Eat”.
In 2017, Jesse abandoned the alias and released “Born to be Blonde”. Despite the music being almost identical to the style of The Factoury, Jesse now uses his own name instead of an alias.
Jesse James Rutherford, sometimes known as “Je$$e” and sometimes stylised as “jesse rutherford”, was born in Newbury Park, California on the 21st of August, 1991. Jesse began his musical career as a rap artist with the mixtape Truth Hurts, Truth Heals, but he is most widely known as the lead singer of the alternative and indie band The Neighbourhood, who created the hit song “Sweater Weather”.
In 2016, Jesse created his solo project The Factoury. After releasing 13 tracks, in late 2017 he released “Born to be Blonde” and abandoned the alias. He now uses his own name (stylized as “jesse rutherford” in lowercase) for his solo work.
Jesse’s first involvement in the entertainment industry was acting—as a child, he landed a few roles in advertisements, television shows and movies such as Star Trek: Enterprise, Life or Something Like It, Ted Bundy and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.
When he eventually entered the world of music he first performed in several talent shows, impersonating ‘N Sync and Elvis Presley.
As he grew older, he began to take music a little more seriously. In 2008, he was the lead vocalist in a local band called Curicula. After that band came to an end, he and his friend Jez Dior formed a duo named The Good Boys.
The Neighbourhood wasn’t formed until 2011, when they released their first song together, “Female Robbery”.
Jesse’s music is often about his life experiences. He has sung about dealing with his father’s passing, and his tumultuous relationship with ex-girlfriend Anabel Englund.
He loves black and white art styles. As a result, a lot of his songs are about having a “black and white” mentality, and his social media posts and interviews are often black and white. His partial color blindness may attribute to his affinity for the aesthetic.
When he was 12, Jesse told his Mom that he was going to be covered in tattoos and, sure enough, now he is. His tattoos include an upside-down Illuminati symbol on his neck, the words “let go” and “let God” on his chest, and the words “know love” on his knuckles. Jesse is a big fan of Tommy Lee, Travis Barker and Justin Timberlake.
Jesse has also been discussed in the news when he made a complete nude appearance in the music video for The Neighbourhood’s “Afraid” and again when he was arrested for drug possession at the Newark airport in 2014.
He now lives in California with his pet dog Martin and his girlfriend Devon Lee Carlson. Devon and her family are the creators of iPhone accessories company Wildflower Cases.
California native Jesse James Rutherford is a singer and actor known as lead singer of the alt-pop group the Neighbourhood, as well as for his solo material. Having embarked on a career in show business as a child actor in the early 2000s, he made his Billboard debut when his band hit the Top 15 with the song "Sweater Weather" in 2013, and released his first solo record, &, in 2017.
Born in Newbury Park in the greater Los Angeles area in the early '90s, Rutherford began earning film credits around the age of ten, winning supporting roles in films such as 2002’s Life or Something Like It and Bundy. He appeared on an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, also in 2002, and continued to earn bit parts. By the late 2000s, he had begun singing in local bands, and in the early 2010s, he recorded a handful of collaborative songs under the hip-hop alias Jesse James.
