PITER treehouse | студия в контейнере
Описание: Piter Treehouse Artist in Residence project.
The Treehouse program facilitates the exchange of artists between the two cities St. Petersburg and Amsterdam. The Treehouse artist in residence program allows painters, musicians and other creatives from different countries to work, sleep and present their artwork.
Since 2013, the year of the friendship between the Netherlands and Russia, Marc Koolen and Maya Lille, both artistic directors, work together to build a cultural bridge between the two cities Amsterdam and St.Petersburg. The two directors combined their network and created the Treehouse international artist in residence program. This program consists of 2 restyled shipping container studio's in St. Petersburg and 2 guest studio's in Amsterdam.
The NDSM Treehouse in Amsterdam has 30 studio’s for local artists. Amsterdam invites russian artists to stay, work and present their artwork in the Amsterdam artscene. St. Petersburg has 10 different studio's with exhibition spaces, a theatre and a concert hall. The Piter Treehouse invites the dutch artists to do the same. Stay, work and present their artwork. We think that working together, exchanging ideas and knowledge can create and inspire a better understanding of our different cultural worlds. Together we have a constant output of different exhibitions, performances and concerts.
To make this cooperation sustainable we are looking for a big building (5000m2) or open air location in St. petersburg with a contract for more than 10 years so we can invest in more studio's and performing venues.
