Named Oaks Lily as she was born on May 4, which is the day of the 2012 Kentucky Oaks. The Kentucky Oaks is the most prestigious race for three-year-olds fillies and therefore Oaks Lily's goal as well. Oaks Lily did not make the 14 horse field, but she certainly brought lots of attention prior to the race while training at Churchill Downs. The Kentucky Oaks, is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-olds Thoroughbred fillies staged annually in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. The race currently covers 1⅛ miles (1,811 m) at Churchill Downs; the horses carry 121 pounds (54.9 kg). The Kentucky Oaks is held on the Friday before the Kentucky Derby each year.
